What is an import set?
ServiceNow is a versatile platform that integrates with various applications. One of its features is the Import Set Tool, which allows administrators to easily import data from different sources and map it into ServiceNow tables. This quick and efficient process proves especially useful for tasks like onboarding incoming clients or projects.
Why is this an issue?
In ServiceNow, it is important to keep your instance clean and organized. This includes removing unused data, such as import sets that are no longer needed. Unused data can take up space in your instance, which can slow down performance. It can also make it difficult to find the data you need.
By default, ServiceNow has a scheduled job called Import Set Deleter that cleans up old import sets and their associated data. This job should be active so that unused data does not accumulate and clutter your instance.
How do I fix it?
To schedule and execute the Import Set Deleter job in your instance, follow these steps:
In the Filter Navigator, type and go to Scheduled Cleanup.
Ensure that the Active field is checked.
Specify the desired frequency for running this scheduled job and set the preferred time for its execution, then Save.
Additionally, you have the option to click Execute now to initiate the cleanup immediately.
